Introduction

Watt Guy (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates wattguy.com from Ontario, Canada. This Privacy Policy explains what information the site may collect, why it is used, and the choices available to visitors.

Information collected automatically

The web host may record ordinary server and security logs when a page is requested. Those logs can include an IP address, request time, requested URL, referring page, browser user-agent, and response status. They are used to deliver the site, diagnose faults, prevent abuse, and maintain security.

Watt Guy currently does not use visitor analytics, a cookie-consent platform, an email newsletter service, or affiliate tracking.

WordPress and comments

Watt Guy runs on WordPress. If comments are enabled on an article and you submit one, WordPress may collect the name, email address, website, and comment you provide, together with your IP address and browser user-agent to help detect spam and abuse.

A commenter may choose to save their name, email address, and website in convenience cookies for future comments. Logged-in administrators receive WordPress authentication and preference cookies. Public visitors do not need an account to read the site.

Site tools

Rank Math helps generate search metadata and sitemaps. WP Super Cache stores copies of public pages to serve them more efficiently. These tools are used to operate and present the site, not to build advertising profiles.

How information is used

  • To provide pages and site functions requested by visitors
  • To moderate comments if comments are used
  • To diagnose technical problems and improve reliability
  • To protect the site and visitors from spam, fraud, and abuse
  • To meet legal obligations

Watt Guy does not sell personal information and does not use personal information for targeted advertising.

Sharing and service providers

Information may be processed by the web host and the software providers needed to operate WordPress, serve pages, and protect the site. Information may also be disclosed when required by law or when reasonably necessary to protect rights, safety, and site security.

Retention and security

Server logs and submitted information are retained only as long as reasonably needed for operations, security, legal obligations, and dispute resolution. No internet service can guarantee absolute security, but reasonable administrative and technical safeguards are used.

Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information, and to ask how it has been used. Watt Guy does not yet have a public privacy mailbox. The Contact page and this policy will be updated when a request channel is available.

Children’s privacy

Watt Guy is a general-audience site and is not directed to children under 13. The site does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
